NZ Public Sector Accountant Test

This test assesses the core accounting skills and knowledge of candidates applying for public sector accounting roles. It is suitable for appointments within Government Ministries and Departments, Local Government and Councils, District Health Boards and their subsidiaries and State Owned Enterprises.

The test is aimed at candidates who are either qualified members of a recognised accounting professional body such as CPA, CAANZ, or international equivalent, are working towards membership, or who have significant experience working in a public sector organisation.

The test covers the following activities:

• Budgeting
• Financial Health
• Decision Making
• Capital Budgeting
• Tax & Financial Reporting

Recruiting managers will gain insight into the candidate’s skills, knowledge and competency in each activity. Overall score and performance are compared with other public sector accountants.
